THE SAINT PIAT'S WALK : HISTORY AND HERITAGE

 

A 32 km hike from the city of Seclin in France to Tournai in Belgium. This is a walk in the footsteps of a Christian martyr who lived during the 3rd century after Jesus Christ. Its known origins are religious but it also invites to discover the entire cross-border history of our land.

 

Walking through the landscapes of Mélantois and Pévèle, you will pass through the Bouvines's village, high place of the battle of July 27th, 1214, witness of the victory of King Philippe Auguste and you will also discover warm sites to have lunch or meet local producers.

 

In long version, you will travel for 6 to 7 hours between nature and history on the way to Saint Piat. In short version, you will realize it in several times thanks to small loops.
